Well, I took him up there and moved him in and left and was gone less than 3 hours when I received a call that he was on his way to the ER. The boys had been playing soccer and he was hit in the face so hard that it broke his glasses and lacerated his eyelid. As I sat on tenterhooks on the train on the way home awaiting a call from the ER, I received a call from registration asking about insurance (which we do not have as medicaid cut him off). I then got a call from the PA (Physician's Assistant) saying that they needed to consult the plastic surgeon, I asked if it was for cosmetic reasons, she replied that no, the skin was no longer viable on that eyelid and they needed to look at possibly putting a synthetic something or skin from elsewhere to ensure that it heals properly. (That was on Sunday) Today I heard from the school nurse that he is back at school with an appt to see the plastic surgeon tomorrow and he is very chipper, fits right in. Please keep praying. Thanks

I felt pretty, when a child comes up and gives me a hug. It warms my heart.
There was a Christian song that use to be on the radio just when I needed it. You're my little girl. It was recorded by an all Christian rock guy group.

Just an FYI for those who know about this Saturday's event in Washington DC If you can't go it's going to televised by C-Span: Sat. 10-1:00 EST...check it out. If you want to also view the Friday night at the Kennedy Center Special Program - you can view it from Glenn Beck's website...but you have to be a member....I think it will be worth it! I'm praying for all attending and traveling. I'd love to hear about anyone who actually gets to attend or knows of the experiences of friends that attend here on our web-spot?

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16
Whenever I hear the above verse or the following song, I know that I have the Light of God in and around me, and that Light is Beautiful!
This little light of mine I'm going to let it shine Oh, this little light of mine I'm going to let it shine Hallelujah This little light of mine I'm going to let it shine Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
Ev'ry where I go I'm going to let it shine Oh, ev'ry where I go I'm going to let it shine Hallelujah Ev'ry where I go I'm going to let it shine Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
All in my house I'm going to let it shine Oh, all in my house I'm going to let it shine Hallelujah All in my house I'm going to let it shine Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
I'm not going to make it shine I'm just going to let it shine I'm not going to make it shine I'm just going to let it shine Hallelujah I'm not going to make it shine I'm just going to let it shine Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
Out in the dark I'm going to let it shine Oh, out in the dark I'm going to let it shine Hallelujah Out in the dark I'm going to let it shine Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine

You will be ok, as will he. Don't be too surprised when he "tries his wings" and makes a bad decision or two. That is what learning is all about. Leave him in God's hands. Rena

What makes me feel pretty? Knowing that I still have a head full of hair, even though it is beginning to turn gray. Knowing that I have all of my own teeth, regardless of the color. Knowing I can still see, even though I wear trifocals and still have to squint sometimes. Knowing I have enough weight on my frame that if I were to get trapped on top of a mountain in the dead of winter I could survive for at least a month. Knowing that being in full-blown menopause isn't all bad, the sweat makes me glisten. And last but not least...knowing that while my mind is a terrible thing to waste, if it left me tomorrow, I wouldn't know any different.
I see gratitude as my ticket to Pretty. When I can take an honest look at all the things I am grateful for, all of the many gifts from God, I realize that the most precious parts of me don't have anything to do with how I look on the outside, but rather the condition of my heart.
God scrubbed me clean a long time ago, I just have to get in tune with the beauty that God sees in me. Of course, a cute hair cut, having your teeth whitened, having lasik surgery, and loosing ^&% pounds doesn't hurt.
Chonda, thank you for being willing to talk about your struggle with depression. You are touching so many lives with a message of healing and grace.
Peace...

Please pray for my son - Matthew - and me. God has opened doors for him to attend the American Boychoir School in Princeton NJ. This will be a huge leap of faith for us, as I have never not had him. He is highly adaptable and will do well, I just want to make sure he stays in the Word and keeps his Faith. I live in AL and will do so until I finish my degree and can move up there to be with him. This will be a huge challenge for me.
